Removal
Power Supply Units
Select the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace
Disconnect the power cable from the PSU
Press the orange release latch and slide the PSU out of the system by using the PSU handle
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel highlighted in blue
Unlock the front bezel by using the key.
Press the release button, and pull the left end of the front bezel.
Unhook the right end, and remove the front bezel.
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a 1/4" Flathead or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch untill the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly highlighted in blue
Lift the blue release levers to unlock the cooling fan cage assembly from the system
Hold the release levers, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly from the system.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue
Holding the edges of the air shroud, incline the air shroud at an angle.
Move the cables away from the air shroud to prevent the cables from being pinched or crimped.
Lift the air shroud from the system.
Front Top cover
Identify the front top cover highlighted in blue
Slide the front top cover in the direction of the arrows marked on the front top cover and Lift the front top cover away from the system.
Hard Drive cage assembly
Identify the drive cage highlighted in blue
Disconnect the drive backplane cables from the connector on the backplane.
Loosen the thumb screws on the drive cage.
Slide the drive cage toward the front of the chassis.
Remove the captive screws securing the drive cage with metal plates on both side of the chassis.
Lift up the metal plates from both sides of the chassis.
Using both hands, hold and slowly pull the drive cage toward the front of the server.
PSB top cover
Identify the PSB top cover highlighted in blue
Using both hands pull to unlock the 2 plungers on the sides of the PSB top cover and slide toward rear of the system.
Lift the PSB top cover from the system.
PSU Cage
Identify the PSU cage highlighted in blue
Disconnect the cables from the connectors on the power distribution board.
Disconnect the cables from the connectors on the power distribution board.
Using both hands slowly rotate and pull up the PSU cage handle.
Hold the handle with one hand and the rear of the PSU cage to lift away from the system
Side Wall Bracket - Right
Identify the side wall bracket highlighted in blue
Press the blue side tabs to release the side wall cable holder.
Move the cables out of the side wall cable holder.
Press the center tab to release the bracket from the chassis, and lift it away from the system.
Control panel - Right
Identify the control panel highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secures the front top cover.
Disconnect the R1 Mezz cable from the system board.
Disconnect the right control panel cable and the VGA cable from the connectors on the system board.
Unroute the right control panel cable from the side wall of the system.
Holding the right control panel and VGA cable assembly, slide the right control panel out of the system.
Install
Control panel - Right
Identify the control panel location highlighted in blue
Align and slide the right control panel in the slot on the system
Route the right control panel cable through the side wall of the system.
Connect the right control panel cable and VGA cable to the connectors on the system board.
Connect the R1 Mezz cable to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the right control panel and the cable cover to the system.
Side Wall Bracket - Right
Identify the side wall bracket location highlighted in blue
Align the guide slots on the side wall bracket with the guides on the system and slide until the cover is seated firmly.
Route the cables through the side wall cable holder.
Close the side wall cable holder until the holder clicks into place.
PSU Cage
Identify the PSU cage location highlighted in blue
Using both hands slowly rotate and pull up the PSU cage handle.
Hold the handle with one hand and the rear side of PSU cage, align and insert the PSU cage with the help of guiding slots at both sides of the chassis.
Rotate the handle down to lock position.
Connect the cables to the connectors on the power distribution board.
Connect the cables to the connectors on the power distribution board.
PSB top cover
Identify the PSB top cover location highlighted in blue
Insert the PSB top cover on the system.
Pull the plunger to align the PSB top cover in its place and slide toward front of the system.
Hard Drive cage assembly
Identify the drive cage location highlighted in blue
Using both hands, hold and slowly push the drive cage toward the front of the server.
Align and place the metal plates on both sides of the chassis.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the drive cage with metal plates on both side of the chassis.
Push the drive cage toward the rear of the chassis.
Tighten the thumb screws on the drive cage.
Connect the all data, signal, and power cable(s) to the backplane.
Front Top cover
Identify the front top cover location highlighted in blue
Align the tabs on the front top cover and Slide the front top cover to the front of the system until the front top cover fits into place.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue
Tilt the air shroud at an angle and align the air shroud tabs with the system slots.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it clicks into place.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly location highlighted in blue
Holding the blue release lever of the cooling fan cage, align the guide rails on the cooling fan cage assembly with the standoffs on the system.
Lower the cooling fan cage assembly into the system until the cooling fan cage connectors engage with the connectors on the system board.
Lower the blue release lever and press to lock the cooling fan cage assembly into the system.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system.
Push the system cover latch down.
Using a 1/4" Flathead or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise.
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue
Hook the right end of the front bezel onto the system.
Fit the free end of the front bezel onto the system.
Lock the front bezel by using the key.
Power Supply Units
Confirm the highlighted PSU is the correct location to install or change selection.
Slide the PSU into the system until the PSU is fully seated and the release latch snaps into place
Connect the power cable to the PSU
